A research ledger, published twice daily

Proven in the literature.
Absent from the market.

We read the peer-reviewed record for processes that work, cost almost nothing to start, and that nobody is selling. Then we try to destroy them.

Most of them die. That is the point — and we publish the autopsies.

Free while the ledger is being built. No spam, no reselling your address. We will not promise you a return — nobody has built one of these ventures yet.

Why you can trust the numbers

Seven gates. Then three that exist only to void the other seven.

A concept enters the ledger only if it clears all seven: proven in the literature; absent from the market; capable of large unit margins; startable on little capital; quick to produce; addressing a market big enough to matter; and measurably better than the product the buyer already pays for — on that buyer's own metric, at the incumbent's own price, by a step change of at least two-fold. Cheaper, greener or biodegradable do not count. Those are preferences, not performance.

Then the economics are recomputed from scratch, in code, from cited inputs — feedstock cost, conversion yield, itemised equipment, the incumbent's price. Payback, margin and return are stress-tested against price falling, yield falling and capital doubling. And every surviving claim is re-checked by an independent audit pass that overrules our own scoring model when they disagree. It has done so 8 times.

The ledger

The 7 that survived.

Each one names the incumbent it beats and the measured margin of victory, taken from the cited literature. These are the entries subscribers receive in full — mechanism, operating protocol, economics, absence audit and sources.

THE PAID LEDGER

The rejections are free. The survivors are not.

Every concept we kill is published in full, because the failures are the more useful half. The seven that survived are the product — and you can read one of them in full, free, before deciding.

One survivor, in full

$49 one-time

Any single concept that cleared every gate, at full depth: mechanism, operating protocol, deterministic economics, the absence audit and every source. Buy the one you want — each is $49, charged once, yours to keep.

  • One complete dossier, same depth as the free sample
  • Economics recomputed in code from cited primitives
  • Sensitivity tables: price -25%, yield -25%, CapEx x2
  • The red-team audit's case against that one concept

Prices in US dollars. No sales tax or VAT is added. Nobody has built one of these ventures yet; you are buying research, not a business plan or any promise of return.

The graveyard

32 concepts failed. Here is how two of them died.

No other research service will show you this, because showing it means admitting most ideas do not survive contact with evidence.

Voided — dead incumbent

Biomanufactured magnetosomes for MRI contrast

Genuinely 2.4–3.5× the relaxivity of its named comparator. That comparator was Feridex — withdrawn from the market in 2008. The margin model was anchored to the historical price of a product discontinued for lack of demand. Regulatory path priced at $35M and 84 months.

Voided — straw incumbent

Plant-urease enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation

Benchmarked against MICP, a rival laboratory technique that never reached market. Against the real incumbent — Portland cement and soil-cement at 1.5–8 MPa — its 6.41 MPa sits inside the ordinary range. Beating another lab proves nothing.

How this differs from a trend newsletter

Trend tools find what is already crowded.

They measure rising search volume or document businesses that already earn revenue. We read the peer-reviewed record for processes that are proven and unbuilt. There is no trend to be late to — and the value does not decay as the list grows, because the barrier is capability, not awareness. Knowing about a process does not let you run one.
